Puzzle Pieces

I was recently asked about our jobs at UCEC, and I said it had a lot to do with putting together the pieces of a puzzle, but the puzzle pieces were constantly changing.

Most people look at the photo on the cover of a jigsaw puzzle box, then they look at the pieces spread out on the table and then they begin to assemble the puzzle. Each person has a method to solve the puzzle, and after a bit of time, the puzzle comes together. But what if the pieces changed shape, size and color during the assembly process? Sounds like a really hard puzzle to solve, right?

Because of our customers' ever-changing work environment, what might start out as a “standard” project can change dramatically. We work with our customers when they need to add, subtract or change parts. We help them out when they need things a week sooner than they did the week before. We ship out parts they forgot to order, or when they have to have something yesterday. We like that we can help solve our customers' puzzles, and know that what is on the “cover of the box” often won’t be the final product.

Mark is President and CEO of UCEC.
