Editor’s Note: The UCEC Management team attended the Rockwell Automation Fair in Chicago near the end of November. This is the second in a two-part series. To read Part One, click here.

Paula Zangari, Operations Support Manager: The four of us were together a lot, which led to some great conversations that just don’t happen at work because we’re so busy. We also had to make a “survival stop” at Macy’s to get hats and gloves. That Chicago wind is cold!

John Beattie, Operations Manager for Production: The show was great for team building. We spent a lot of time together and got to know each other better outside of the work world. We were looking out for each other.

Zach Fothergill, Operations Support Manager: I thought I was going to get automation knowledge out of the show, but I think the biggest thing was team building. We had a lot of conversations about working more efficiently together. At work, you can’t always have those conversations because there are always distractions.

Garrod Massey, Operations Support Manager: I think the best thing overall was definitely team building. We were able to do planning and talk about things we want to do in our everyday work. It was real bread and butter stuff: how we’re going to run our teams and ways to make production better.
