We read with interest a recent post on Automation.com about one company's reinvention of the push button. According to the post, the new push button system is "designed for faster and more efficient installation of devices like selector switches, keyed switches and potentiometers."
Here at UCEC, we enjoy seeing a new take on an "old" technology. As a company that has heartily embraced new control panel technology, innovation is in our DNA.
May your day be filled with fresh ideas and new technologies to explore!

In October, UCEC will celebrate its 60th anniversary.
From the beginning, the founder of UCEC, Howard Lacy, felt that he could make a better control panel at a better value than the control panels he was purchasing from others. My father-in-law, Chris Kitsos, took this concept beyond the municipal markets, and provided even better control panels and customer service to the private industry. It is amazing to think about how far UCEC and industrial control panels have come since 1958. We can all be proud of the role UCEC has played as a leader in our industry.
As the calendar winds down and turns over a fresh page, we're taking a look back at 2017's accomplishments. There were many, including: UCEC's new tech projects, our new published case studies, going "green" with wire duct and our launch of new project management software. We promoted team members, traveled to Mexico and some of us ended up on video and online telling the UCEC story (looking at you, Mark!). All in all, it was a year filled with hard work, great projects and continued success for this company that will celebrate 60 years in business in 2018. Thanks for a great 2017, and here's a toast to our leadership who motivate us each and every day at work.
Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoy this special time of year with your loved ones and friends. I am very excited about what’s in store for 2018, and for the opportunity to work with all of you to make it happen. Thank you to our customers, vendors and employees!
Merry Christmas and happy holidays from UCEC! As we close out a successful and fulfilling 2017, we wanted to let our employees, customers, partners and vendors know how much we appreciate them. You're the reason we exist!
Whew! It's been quite the ride in 2017 with a very busy shop, working with talented co-workers and of course, the reason for what we do: creating our valued customers' electrical control panels. Here's a look back and a few stories that made our year.
Our customers often bring us cutting-edge challenges—and we love it! Recently, one of our vendor partners CPI came to us with a project we couldn’t resist. CPI’s customer wanted to revamp the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens that are installed in each of their electrical control panels at a large beverage canning facility. (Side note: UCEC is fortunate to work with many partners. Meet more of our vendor partners here, here and here.)
What's ahead in the New Year for UCEC? We're glad you asked!
At Justin Kastner’s first job at a company that manufactured packaging machines, he found himself working behind a desk. He quickly realized it wasn’t for him, so he happily moved toward a more “hands-on” position working with machines. Justin decided he enjoyed learning about electrical components and how machines run, and the discovery launched his career.
Our employees tell us that their work colleagues feel like "family" which is the highest compliment they could give!
We're grateful for many things in 2017, but today, we're focusing on our vendors. These folks and their high-quality products allow us to offer our customers the very best parts and components for their important projects.
